Thematic Lines
Societal Challenges
A challenge-based approach will bring together resources and knowledge across different fields, technologies and disciplines, including social sciences and the humanities. This will cover activities from research to market, with a new focus on innovation-related activities such as piloting, demonstration, test-beds, and support for public procurement and market uptake.
INESC-ID is organized into four Thematic Lines, identified as the unifying themes for which INESC-ID can make the most relevant contributions to current societal challenges: societal digital transformation, life and health technology, energy transition, and security and privacy.
These lines strategically serve as a backbone structure, fostering synergies among the 10 Scientific Areas of INESC-ID.
