About INESC-ID

WHO WE ARE

INESC-ID is a private, non-profit research institute dedicated to R&D+i in computer science and electrical and computer engineering.

Founded in 1999 and co-owned by Instituto Superior Técnico (51%) and INESC (49%), we hold Public Interest status and have been an Associate Laboratory of the Portuguese Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education since 2004. We operate from our headquarters in Lisbon and two additional campuses in Taguspark and Alameda. We are headquartered at the INESC Lisboa building on Rua Alves Redol, next to Instituto Superior Técnico, with additional sites at the Taguspark and Alameda campuses. Our work spans four Thematic Lines and ten Scientific Areas.
