Artificial Intelligence for People and Society (AIPS) investigates social and responsible AI systems, in the form of robots and virtual agents, to support people and transform society.
We research human-agent interaction, affective computing, agents’ decision-making, machine learning, and evolutionary game theory, applied to social simulation, interactive games, and social robotics. We build systems that recognise and respond to human emotion, plan and act in social settings, and collaborate with people to support them in daily tasks and improve their capabilities.
