New prize established by INESC and Público will recognize young talents in ICT
INESC and the Portuguese newspaper Público have established a new award — Vencer o Adamastor (roughly translating to "Beating Adamastor", a reference to the mythical stone giant who guarded maritime passage through the Cape of Good Hope and is featured in Luis de Camões' Os Lusíadas) — worth €20,000 and designed to recognize innovative work by young scientists, developed in Portugal, in the fields of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), including electrical engineering and computation.

First quantum communication network segment in Portugal approved for implementation
